Infographic Tutorial
Learning Objective(s): Viewers of this infographic will be able to prepare to take their AP US History exam on May 19 or June 2, respectively. This infographic will be used exclusively by APUSH students at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, OR. The infographic summarizes and focuses the information provided by CollegeBoard on how to set up and prepare for the 2021 AP Digital Exams. All information in this infographic comes from this web page.
Professional Application: The above example is a professional application of utilizing an infographic. As an AP teacher, part of my job is helping students prepare for the AP exam. I had already planned on simplifying and summarizing the information from CollegeBoard on taking Digital Exams; creating an infographic made it easier to further simply information. It also allowed me to explore embedding public Google Calendar links.
But this is a very specific application. I despise CollegeBoard, and I don't see myself making infographics for them. My other professional application would be to make infographics for my classrooms and extracurriculars: Theater, AVID, US History, AP US History (content and writing), Senior Seminar, Speech and Debate, Model UN, Link Crew, TEDx, etc. As we learned this week from Mayer, infographics can play a vital role in conveying information.
